Master’s Degree - Mechanical Engineering
Energy, Flow and Process Technology Track
2023 - Expected 2025
Currently I’m studying Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. My track is in Energy, Flow and Process Technology and I’m mainly focusing my coursework in fluid dynamics and its applications. Some of the relevant courses include:
Computational Fluid Dynamics
Turbulence
Introduction to Multiphase Flow
Advanced Applied Thermodynamics
Advanced Heat Transfer
Engineering Optimisation
Artificial Intelligence for Physicists
Intro to Wind Turbines
Here I have been able to further develop my interests, realising that Computational Fluid Dynamics is quite interesting in the sense that out of all the complexity of the algorithms comes out something usually beautiful which explains the physics in problems which have no known solution or intuition.
Although I am not the most experienced engineer in the field, I would absolutely love to have the experience of exploring Computational Fluid Dynamics for applications such as Combustion and Multiphase Flow as these are absolutely crucial in tackling the future energy transition, positively impacting the environment and the world.
GPA of 8.5/10, targeting the Cum Laude distinction in my graduation.
Bachelor’s Degree - Mechanical Engineering
2020 - 2023
In Lisbon I studied at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Some of the relevant courses include:
Fluid Dynamics I and II
Thermodynamics I and II
Computational Mechanics
Control Systems
Industrial Automation
Manufacturing Processes I and II
Solid Mechanics
Mechanics of Materials
Thus far this has been the greatest learning experience of my life. I had the chance of meeting outstanding professors which shared their passions with their students and this made me fall in love with what I studied. Because of this, most of the subjects were extremely interesting and I feel that I could soak everything this university had to offer me.
In addition, I was able to participate in various different projects including designing an electric motorcycle from scratch at TLMoto and investigate the cooling properties of some nanofluids in order to better dissipate heat from solar cells at IN+.
